Brandons First Look

 Well we've been in Maui for about a day now and we're off to a great start! Besides being sunburned already... After getting off the airplane, my uncle Daniel picked us up and took us to none other than the delicious Zippy's! Best known for their chili. Brandon ordered the ZipPac (on the left of the photo). Its Teri Beef, awesome fried chicken, and rice with furikake. Let me just tell you... Hawaiians know how to cook! I ordered the chili loco. Best of two worlds. I couldn't decide between just famous Zippy's chili and rice or a loco moco (rice, hamburger patty, and a fried egg with gravy), so it was perfect! Zippy's is always great.

 I was surprised that Brandon was so interested in this salt shaker right here. He's never heard of putting rice in it to keep the moisture out.

This right here is THE BEST PICKLED MANGO ON THE ISLAND! Made by my Uncle Daniel. We posted his recipe if you ever want to try it. :) Its an acquired taste if you have never tried Li Hing Mui. Almost sour in a way but still yummy!

All in all, our first night/day was great. I got to see old family and glad Brandon got to meet them all! We went to Wal Mart for the first time in a longgg time to get some necessities for work, enjoyed dinner and much needed rest after a total of 26 hours of traveling. Then today we ventured along the west coast of the island to go check out our new room. Brandon loved it! He's never seen such warm and clear water before. And our roommate, well she's a whole other story.. ;)
