Today was the day we anticipated! Our first day in the kitchen! We knew we should expect to be busy because there was a banquet for about 350 people that were staying there. We helped in Garde Manger banquet kitchen. I worked with a man named Nicolas whom i now call Jorge(mexican version) and he calls me Martha Stewart. LOL! Brandon cut tons of mirepoix and cleaned a bunch of lobster. Then it was plate up time!
Heres the entree below, the surf and turf!
The dessert looked delicious, even though i hate sweets. Its a creme brulee filled pineapple with biscotti.
The chefs were all very welcoming and very nice. Jorge called me out on my knife cuts but i appreciated it. He was always scared i would cut myself and told me to slow down. He also made me some cinnamon tea. Kind of like a nanny haha He was helpful and definitely made me realize that i shouldnt be using my CIA knife anymore. good grief. We hope tomorrow is just as great!
